University Loan Funds

University Loan Funds

Student Awards & Financial Aid administers a small number of emergency loan funds which are intended to provide emergency assistance to students experiencing temporary, short-term financial problems. The funds are provided on an interest-free basis for a stipulated period of time.

To be eligible for these loans, students must be in good academic standing and must provide proof of an acceptable source of repayment. Students wishing to obtain assistance from one of the following funds should submit an application, available on the Student Awards & Financial Aid website.

Ginny Lee Memorial Fund

The Federation of Students has established an interest-free, short-term loan fund in memory of former student Ginny Lee. Loans are available for full-time students up to a maximum of $1,000 for a period of up to 90 days. Loans are also available to part-time students to a maximum of $300.

School of Optometry and Vision Science Emergency Loan Fund

This fund has been established by the School of Optometry and Vision Science and has been made possible as a result of donations by the profession. Optometry students who have completed, or are about to complete, third year who need assistance with some of the up-front costs of their required rotation may be eligible to receive an interest-free loan up to a maximum of $1,500 for a period of up to 90 days.
