Relevant Courses at Wilfrid Laurier University

Within the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, courses taken at Wilfrid Laurier University will appear on University of Waterloo records as graded courses and will normally be included in the overall cumulative average only. If a Wilfrid Laurier University course is specified in the major program requirements, the graded course may be included in both the overall cumulative average and the major cumulative average.

Maximum units for courses taken at Wilfrid Laurier University that may be applied to the student transcript are:

Department of Kinesiology: 5.0 units (ten courses or equivalent)

Kinesiology students may count Activity courses (taken at Wilfrid Laurier University) toward their degree, to a maximum of 0.5 credit. Students should consult with Wilfrid Laurier University regarding availability of these courses since enrolment is often limited.

Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies: 7.5 units (15 courses or equivalent)

For all plans in Recreation and Leisure Studies, students may complete a maximum of 1.0 unit towards their degree as any four 0.25 unit University of Waterloo courses. This may include a maximum of two 0.25 credit university level Activity courses taken at another university (e.g., Wilfrid Laurier University Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) courses). Students may not count two 0.25 unit courses as a 0.5 unit restricted elective.

School of Public Health and Health Systems: 5.0 units (ten courses or equivalent)


On the University of Waterloo's Schedule of Classes for Undergraduate Students, a "W" following the course number, i.e., BUS 121W (see Laurier’s calendar), denotes a Wilfrid Laurier University course. Enrolment in these courses is achieved using Quest. To enrol in a Wilfrid Laurier University course that does not appear on our Schedule of Classes for Undergraduate Students, an Undergraduate Studies Cross-Registration Form is used.
